Semana 43 - 19

Image
This past week was pretty good.   I had a lot of fun teaching people.  Most of the people I teach have good questions and I love answering them with the scriptures. This week I taught a joven (child/youth)  about the plan of salvation, he had a lot of questions about what happens after we die and I felt very happy to help him answer his questions.    What happens after we die is that our spirits go to a place of waiting called the spirit world. There we wait in 1 of 2 states: happiness or sadness, depending what we have done here in this life. We wait until the resurrection because, like Christ, we too will be resurrected.  We are judged on what we have done, and if we have lived the gospel of Jesus Christ and kept the commandments of God we will return to live with him. Another thing that happened this week was that I was teaching the people I baptized in September about the articles of faith ( a summery of our beliefs) and her husband (...

Semana 42 - #REBOUND

Image
This week a lot of good things happened. This week I found 14 new people to teach and a couple more people are coming to church and my companion and I might have found a house to live in.   This week was definitely full of blessings. This week was really just a blur of hard work and lessons.  I love what I'm doing and I know what I teach is true. I know that Christs' true church is here on the earth today and the name of His church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  cuídense, espero que todo vaya bien por ustedes (Take care, I hope everything goes well for you) paraíso = la selva de Perú (paradise = the jungle of Peru Elder Porowski Elder Porowksi and Elder Oliver

Semana 41 - What Goes Up Must Come Down

After a successful week in the jungle the rains came tumbling down,  Lots of the people that we found last week weren't home to teach and all of them said they wanted to go to church but in the end no one showed up. It made me think how they are missing out on the blessings of going to church. Every commandment that God has given to man is for the benefit of man, and every commandment that God gives he prepares a way that man might be able to complete this commandment.  Lots of the people that I have met here in the jungle have told me that they need to work Sundays or it's really early, but as I have seen in my own life and in the lives of the people I have taught, that keeping the Sabbath day holy brings blessings that most of the time we don't notice but we notice them when they are gone. Others things that are happening in the jungle is that me and my companion are looking for a house and its a little hard because more than half of our area is wooden houses...

Semana 40 - Hard Work

Image
Hard work pays off! This week in the jungle my companion and I were very blessed with the efforts we put into the Lord's work. This week we found 12 new people to teach and we walked in and taught 11 different people. Hard work always pays off. Besides that this week was fun as time flew by teaching someone different every 30 min for 6 hours every day.  I love my time here in Perù and all the people i meet and teach. I hope everyone has a great week! Cuìdese todos (Take care all) una semana más en paraiso, la selva (Another week in paradise, in the jungle) Elder Porowski Libre de virus. www.avast.com
