Semana 73 - 2 GRINGOS PERDIDOS (2 lost gringos)

So being in Pucallpa again is awesome but me and my companion we got so lost. So so lost.... So me and companion are opening our area and it's huge!!!!  We have been here 6 days and we have gotten lost everyday.  It's awesome.  We have so much fun together.  As zone leader in the "jungle" (a place outside of Iquitos ) we are basically our zones dad.  We are in charge of 20 missionaries. all their finances, health problems, well being physical and spiritual. its awesome.  In my zone there is an area that is 100 km long, it's huge!  We got to visit it to see about the house contract there.  It's a really big area.  The area is called Campo Verde. As zone leader in the jungle me and my companion are going to fly to Iquitos this week.  I'm loving everything about my area . My companion is called Elder Meeks.  He's from Arizona. una semana mas en paraíso (another week in paradise) Elder Porowski

So after 6 short weeks here in Iquitos I'm changing again but this time as a zone leader!!! So i only have 4 more changes in my mission and it looks like I'm going to finish my mission in this last area. So I'll be ending where I started in PUCALLPA.  It's going to be awesome to see the people that I knew there when I didn't speak Spanish. This last week my companion and I baptised a young lady that is super awesome.  She has been coming to church for the last 6 months every Sunday!!!!  My companion baptised her and I had the privilege to give her the gift of the Holy Ghost. Yesterday I was super sick!  I had a fever, my head hurt, my kidneys hurt and my legs were weak.  I took 2 ibuprofenos, had a 12 hour nap and I woke up fine. I'm sad to leave the families that I've got to know here in Secada but I'm also excited to meet new people in Pucallpa.  una semana mas en paraíso (another week in paradise) Elder Porowski

Semana 71 - CHAU!!!!! (Bye)

So my mission president ended his mission this week. This week was interesting because we had a lot of activities and a zone conference.  Monday we played soccer for most of the day.  Thursday we had a "last supper" with my old mission president and today I'm going to have an interview with my new mission president!!! In the middle of all these activities me and my companion found more awesome families to teach!!!  We found the Navarro family; the dads' name is John and he is awesome.  He is a mechanic and he has a drinking problem, but unlike most of the people we teach they came to church the first Sunday we invited them!!!! They came late but they came!!  John told us that he felt so good at church, that every week he is going to come to church and that he is going to change his life.  His wife and daughter are also really good.  They are also really interested in our message. The daughter really tries to learn and remember the thing...

Semana 70 - ESTÁN CASADOS??? (They are married!!)

This week me and my compànion found and are teaching a bunch of families that are married!!! That is super rare to find here in the jungle of Peru and these families are awesome!!! All of then have said that they feel a peace when we are in their houses.  That peace they feel is the Holy Ghost testifying of what they are hearing is true.  That we really are representatives of Jesus Christ, teaching His true gospel to the world and that it's the only gospel that will help mankind achieve salvation. I'm super excited to work with these people, to help them know their Saviour more, grow closer to Him and have a fullness of joy. una semana mas en paraíso (One more week in paradise) Elder Porowski
