semana (week) 18/104

This week felt pretty long, Unlike my first 12 weeks in Pucallpa this week actually felt like a week.  The other weeks felt like days and the total 12 weeks have felt like maybe 3 weeks pero esta bien (but it's ok).  Things that happened this week: 1) there is this fruit here that you can make bowls out of.  I'm making bowls right now, the fruit is drying out right now so hopefully I'll have working bowls by next week.  The fruit is called wingo. At first it's green and as it dries it turns brown.  You can't eat the inside because its poisonous. I'm excited to make those this week. 2)we did some service this week and the people weren't really using us so in the spare time I climbed this water tower.  It was super beautiful as I could see all of Pucallpa.   I took pictures a little late so they are all dark, sorry.  I hate heights so it was super scary getting down and going up. Happy Mother's Day, This week I was looking forward to skyping with my family on Mother's Day. It was a great to see their faces after 4 months. Hope everyone did something nice for Mother's Day. So things that happened this week were:       1. On Tuesday a stray kitten wandered into our apartment and chilled for the morning. We had to put it back outside because as missionaries we cant keep pets.        2. I tried mate this week.  It's this herbal tea thing, I don't really know how to describe it but I know that depending on who you ask it either tastes like dirt or not like dirt. I thought it tasted pretty good, but the person who gave it to me did put a bunch of sugar in it, pero esta bien (but it's ok).       3. I also figured out that there is a highway that goes through the town of Pucallpa, where I am currently, all the way to Lima. I thought that was pretty cool.       4. This ...

week 16/104

So not a lot happened this week, Things that did happen were:  I played Frisbee last Monday, it rained a lot this week and the streets flooded again.  My companion and I did a lot of door knocking this week to find people to teach and baptize.  All I can say about this week, we did a lot of walking and finding people went OK.  We found this one older couple who are really interested so that's awesome.  So far my time here in Peru has been a real blessing because not only has my own faith been strengthen but I have learned to love and care for people with a more perfect and pure love. I am super grateful to be serving the Lord in Peru. este es un otro dia en el paraiso cuídese todos Elder Porowski

What a week, entonces esta semana tuve un bautismo y un matrimonio, (Then this week I had a baptism and a marriage) ellos fueron muy divertido (they were very funny[?]).  Our investigators Jorge and Ursula got married this week on Thursday and baptized on Saturday. Both occasions were very exciting for them and myself. I loved seeing their lives change for the better.  They are happier as a family and the light of Christ is definitely in their lives.  After their wedding one of their family members came up to me and my companion and asked us to baptize him!!  So we are going to teach him and his family. Interesting things that happened this week were that me and my companion found cockroaches in his desk!! We killed them both.  They were pretty big. Saturday it rained and the streets flooded again.  I'm sick again so that's great :(   My companion turned 21 on Sunday. cuídese todos  yo extraño ustedes mucho ...
