semana (week) 18/104

This week felt pretty long,

Unlike my first 12 weeks in Pucallpa this week actually felt like a week.  The other weeks felt like days and the total 12 weeks have felt like maybe 3 weeks pero esta bien (but it's ok).

Things that happened this week:

1) there is this fruit here that you can make bowls out of.  I'm making bowls right now, the fruit is drying out right now so hopefully I'll have working bowls by next week.  The fruit is called wingo. At first it's green and as it dries it turns brown.  You can't eat the inside because its poisonous. I'm excited to make those this week.
2)we did some service this week and the people weren't really using us so in the spare time I climbed this water tower.  It was super beautiful as I could see all of Pucallpa.   I took pictures a little late so they are all dark, sorry.  I hate heights so it was super scary getting down and going up. NO PASA NADA CON LAS ALTURAS.
3) I went to the local zoo last week and that was pretty cool.  The monkeys were the best part for me.
4) Changes: changes happen every 6 weeks and this is when missionaries get calls Monday night to tell then if they are going to a new area in the mission.  I didn't get a call, neither did my comp but 2 of my friends that I met here left.  They were both gringos, so really all the gringos in my zone live in my house because I live with the other 2.

This week my comp´and I started visiting this guy named Alexis.  He is super cool and he really has a genuine interest in learning more about the church. I feel like he is going to get baptized next month.

scripture this week is from the Book of Mormon
And I will tell you of the wrestle which I had before God, before I received a remission of my sins.
Behold, I went to hunt beasts in the forests; and the words which I had often heard my
father speak concerning eternal life, and the joy of the saints, sunk deep into my heart.
And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in
mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.
And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away.
And I said: Lord, how is it done?
And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
11 And after I, Enos, had heard these words, my faithbegan to be unshaken in the Lord; and I prayed unto him with many long strugglings for my brethren, the Lamanites.
12 And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith.
15 Wherefore, I knowing that the Lord God was able to preserve our records, I cried unto
him continually, for he had said unto me: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing
that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.

I love this passage of scripture and how this prophet exercised faith. The rewards that come from praying to our Heavenly Father with real intent and confidence is that you will receive a response from God.
