semana 23/104

Wow so another change has come to an end. A change is when 6 weeks ends and we get calls to change companions.  I know that my current companion will leave because he has 4 changes in this area.  We get the calls tonight. Nothing really exciting happened this week except for San Juan.  San Juan is a holiday where everyone makes juanies.  They are a chunk of chicken (like half the chicken) rice and egg wrapped in some giant leafs and cooked over an open flame.  They eat their juanies at the beach, drink a lot of beer with it, then they go playing in the water.  This holiday was yesterday and there was nobody in their houses.  I am pretty sure that all of Pucallpa was at the beach. All I did this week was walk the dirt roads, sat down and taught a principle of the gospel with as many people who would listen. That is one thing that I have been doing different lately, teaching when people give me time. We found this one lady this week named Mon...

Wow its Monday again. This week felt super fast just like the others, but hey time flies when you're having fun.  This week I figured out that I can explain things quicker in Spanish than in English.   Now I really need to think about what I'm going to say in English but in Spanish it just comes out naturally until there is a word I don't know. I played volley ball this week with my zone which was super fun!  What I'm really missing is rugby, especially hitting.  That's fine. One more time this week the dog found us and followed us to our pinchanistas house.  We have named it Chocolate.  Yesterday we were walking in a really poor part of our area where all the houses are on stilts. No I didn't fall into the river below!  We taught a family in that area.  What was really interesting is that at the end of the lesson one of the men told us that he had a dream about us.  He said that he knew that someone like us ...

I HATE SPIDERS, So this week we found a HUGE spider in the room that we sleep in!!  We killed it pretty quick, now we need to hope that no more show up.  Other things that happened this week were: 1. One elder that I was living with ended his mission.  It was sad to see him go, but the time comes for everyone. 2. My bowl fruit things are all dried out and I'm ready to make some bowls this week. 3. The same dog followed us all the way to our house from the farthest parts of our area 2 times this week. The biggest thing that happened this week was that I have been called as an ENGLISH TEACHER in my zone.  So now I have to preach the gospel and teach 10 Latinos English.  How great a blessing!!! At first I was definitely feeling overwhelmed, but hey if you're comfortable your not growing.  I know with the help of the Savior I can teach them how to speak English.  One scripture that always helps me whenever there is somethin...

So I did some concrete this week, Doing concrete this week was really a different experience because I'm used to just placing concrete. The way they do it here in Peru is really different because they mix in the cement mix with dirt and add water to make concrete right beside where they are going to put the concrete.  They move it all in buckets. All I have to say is that concrete in Canada is way easier!!  My back was killing me for 3 days after. pero esta bien (but it's ok). One of my investigators, named Alexis, is super awesome and every time we teach him he tells us that he feels something different.  He feels a sense of calm.  I can testify that, that feeling is the Holy Ghost testifying of the truth of the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. cuídese much todos (take care) este es un otro día en el paraiso (this is another day in paradise) Elder P orowski
