semana 23/104
Wow so another change has come to an end. A change is when 6 weeks ends and we get calls to change
companions. I know that my current companion will leave because he has 4 changes
in this area. We get the calls tonight.
Nothing really exciting happened this week except for San Juan. San Juan is a holiday where everyone makes juanies. They are a chunk of
chicken (like half the chicken) rice and egg wrapped in some giant leafs and
cooked over an open flame. They eat their juanies at the beach, drink a lot
of beer with it, then they go playing in the water. This holiday was yesterday
and there was nobody in their houses. I am pretty sure that all of Pucallpa was
at the beach.
All I did this week was walk the dirt roads, sat down and
taught a principle of the gospel with as many people who would listen. That is
one thing that I have been doing different lately, teaching when people give me
time. We found this one lady this week named Monica. Her mother passed away
a month ago, so me and my companion shared the plan of salvation with her. It brought a lot of comfort to her because we taught her that families can be together
forever. I can testify that that is true because just like Christ was
resurrected we too will be resurrected with the same body that we have now. The
only difference will be that our bodies will be perfect, so there will be no more pain or
debilities of any kind.
I am loving my time here in Peru. I love teaching people about God and His son Jesus Christ and to see how the gospel of Christ has changed
their life for the better.
I know that God is our Father, He loves us and knows us
personally. I know that God sent his son Jesus Christ to redeem us from our sins and as we repent we can receive unimaginable peace and happiness.
cuídense! (Take care)
este es un otro día en el paraiso
