David Peru Mission

esta semana había mucha lluvia casi cada día llovió. (This week there was a lot of rain, almost every day it rained) This week there were changes and a new sister is in my district Hermana Conde.  She is from Perú.  This week me and my companion sat down with a lot of people and taught them about the gospel.  I hope we can find  them again this week.  I don't really remember this week and it's really hard to write in English so I might not write much. This week was really good, rain and all.  Me and my companion helped a couple motokars up super muddy hills in our area when it rained.  It was really interesting doing that in dress shoes.  un día más en las montañas de paraíso (One more day in the mountains of paradise) cuídense todos y tengan una buena semana (Take care everyone and have a good week) Elder Porowski

entonces esta semana fue algo para recordar. (So this week was something to remember) This week lots of things happened. 1.  There was a bunch of rain and muchas veces (many times) me and my companion got soaked in the rain.  Every time it rains the water in our house cuts out, so for a couple days we  didn’t  have water, and that was really interesting because we live 4 people.  2.  Me, being gringo , I don`t really know the difference between my corns.  I had to buy popcorn kernels to make popcorn, and when I entered the store there were like 100 bags of corn! I picked the bag that looked right, but when I brought the corn to my pensionista she told me that it was corn to feed chicken, so I had to walk back to the store and get the right kind of corn.  Later that day it rained super hard and I got soaked.  This week we had our zone conference and my district coordinated our outfits, we all wore flowers.  It was aweso...

viejo = old. specifically old man. ahora como hemos pasado la fecha 10 de enero 2019 he estado en Perú por 1 año. en un año aprendí muchas cosas. uno de ellas siendo español. y esta semana voy escribirles en español, espero que  google translate puede ayudarles a entender mi correo esta semana. esta semana cumplí 1 año en la misión y siento muy viejo, y como veo el tiempo que ha pasado doy cuenta que el señor me ha ayudado muchísimo en este tiempo no solo con el idioma pero con mi conversión personal. la manera que celebré mi 1 año en la misión fue con pizza y coa cola, la manera que cada misionero celebra algo aquí en la selva. una experiencia que tuve en la semana fue que cuando yo y mi compañero regresamos a una casa la persona nos dijo que no quiere hablar con nosotros porque ella se bautizó adventista y ella obedece al pastor y cree en dios, fue algo raro para nosotros esta semana. cuídense todos un otro día en paraíso Elder Porowski Old = old.  Specifical...

I hope everyone had a Feliz Navidad. I know I had a great Navidad as I got to do a video call with my family and see their faces after a long time. Really it was hard to speak English after lots of time only speaking Spanish. Apparently I have an accent as I speak English.  For Christmas as a zone we had a little celebration together before we did our video calls with our families.  This last week has been interesting as lots of people are traveling for the holidays. espero que todos tengan un feliz año nuevos con metas por 2019 (I hope everyone has a Happy New Year with goals in 2019) saludos de páraiso (greetings from paradise) Elder Porowski
