Week 6/104 (week 7/104)
Hola,
This week has been quite the adventure! The last few days in
the training center went by in a flash. I left Tuesday morning for Iquitos and spent the night there. It was super hot getting off the plane and for the
rest of the day. After I landed I had a meeting on what to eat, what not to eat and what to do
while in the mission field.
The morning after I left for a city called Pucallpa. In Pucallpa there are barely any cars. The only way of
transportation are motorcycles, motorcars, or walking. Motorcars are a 3 wheeled
motorcycle with a bench over the rear 2 wheels. Riding that for the first time
was wild!
The area where I proselyte is very poor. All the roads are dirt and so
are the floors to most of the houses. My first 2 day it was really hot and I didn't stop sweating for the entire day. The people here are very receptive to our message and
extremely humble.
Yesterday it rained and flooded most of the streets
in my area. When we went to our pinchanestas house ( the lady that does all the cooking) there was only a little bit of water flowing down the sides of the street. When we left the whole street was covered with rushing water. I had to walk
through that to take a motorcar to church, so I was soaking wet the whole day.
My new companion's name is Elder Olivas.
que dios este con ustedes hasta que nos encontremos nuevamente
(God be with you till we meet again)
