week 13/104

Ok so this week when from 0-100 really quick,

So now that I can walk again my companion and I could finally get back to work.

First big thing this week was service.  Me and my comp cleared the space in front of a members house.  We pulled up all the grass and bricks that were in his lawn with a flat headed shovel that sucked pero esta bien (but it's ok). I love doing service!  All the shovels here are flat headed and when they buy a regular shovel they chop off the point which is weird.  Sometimes I like to play a game called where doesn't my shirt touch my back (see the first picture).
The members house is right beside a pitch black river.  The river is black because all the people put their trash and poop in the river, it's pretty gross.

This week I flew to Iquitos to finish my immigration process.  So really I can say I'm Peruvian.  The process was super quick, not really worth a 2 day trip pero esta bien.  It was fun because I had another Elder with me, Elder Partida.  Iquitos is a lot bigger than Pucallpa.   The traffic is super hectic.

So this week I had a drink called masatao and it was the nastiest thing I have ever had!  What's worse than the taste is how its made.  Traditionally its made from a yuca root.  People chew the root and spit it out into a bowl, add milk and sugar to make it taste better.  But it still tastes awful!  People say the best masatao is made by the old jungle ladies with no teeth.  The lady that gave me masatao was pretty old but she had teeth.  She probably chewed it so that is super nasty.  She gave me a yuca root that I've named Wilson.

This weeks spirtitual message is the fact that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father who loves us and sent His beloved son to die for us so that we can return to live with Him.

Here is a talk that talks about how precious this knowledge is

cuídese todos amo ustedes mucho
este es un otro dia en el paraiso

(Take care of yourself
I love you very much)
