week 14/104

This week was interesting,

First off I was in the clinic twice this week, once for myself and the other to look after another missionary. I went to the clinic to get my ankle x-rayed because my mission leaders wanted me to. The only thing with that was wrong is the tendons in my ankle are messed up and the doctor wants me to have reduced hours of work. The second time was to look after a missionary who got a light form of dengue (a debilitating viral disease of the tropics, transmitted by mosquitoes, and causing sudden fever and acute pains in the joints.).  He is fine now.

Another thing I learned the hard way is I shouldn't mix juices.  I drank a glass of camu camu and then a glass of pineapple juice, after a while i threw up.  So never drink these drinks one after another!

This week for service, as a zone, we shined shoes and that was cool.

My Spanish is coming along.  I'm having more and more normal conversations with people and my pronunciation is also coming along nicely.  One thing that helped a lot is reading the Book of Mormon out loud, 5 pages every day.  My companion, who is from Lima, says my accent is pretty good.  I still sound a little white but not embarrassingly white, so that's good.

This week with our investigators, we have this one young family who have been preparing for baptism and are getting baptized this Saturday!! I had the opportunity to see them change and become happier as a family when they applied the teachings of Jesus Christ in their lives and read the Book of Mormon.

I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God.  Its simple and precious teachings combined with the Bible is the complete and fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read this book cover to cover and have come to know for myself it is the word of God.

amo todos de ustedes y quiero el mayor por ustedes  (I love all of you and I want the biggest one for you)

cuĂdese mucho este es un otro dia en el paraiso (take good care of yourself this is another day in paradise)
